As The Wind Began to Howl-A Photo Journal of My Yesterday

Yesterday was “Friends Day” (Dia das Amigas) here in the Azores.. and while everyone was celebrating friendships, with cooking and dressing in costumes, a storm was moving in..

The morning was sunny and warm, but as afternoon arrived, we began to feel the wind from the oncoming storm. The other islands were hit by the storm much harder and earlier than Santa Maria, one of the islands had wind gusts of 231 km, but we had strong winds here, gigantic waves, and the craziest hail storm I have ever seen.

I picked my sweetheart up from work, and we drove to the Port (the Cais) took some photos,  and then drove to the tiny village of Anjos. We sat and watched the  growing waves as darkness began to set in….

When the last speck of day was replaced by night, we went home, ate Buzios, drank chamomile tea, listened to the howling wind, and hoped our house wouldn’t blow away.  😉

Everyday is an adventure, but yesterday had a little more sugar, and much more wind.

Lots of LOVE to you today. Happy Valentines~Yogini Tiff

  1. Dad

The storms there can be very intense. I hope your garden did not get beat to death by the hail. Take care and Happy Valentines Day to you guys.

    1. Thanks! It was fun, the buzios were good, and although typically, I try to avoid white sugar and white flour, I make an exception when things are blessed with love and friendship. 😉
