The Dances of Carnival (Carnaval)

On Sunday, my family and I headed up to the tiny picturesque village of Santa Barbara to see the “Dances of Carnival”. This is my first time living in a country that celebrates Carnival, and I am learning so much. This is not a one or two day festival, it lasts for weeks!

Celebrate!
Celebrate!

I loved the dances, the music, the singing, the costumes, the smiles.  Next year, I want to be dancing the folk dances of Carnival too.

The really big parties of Carnival are in March, I will dance, eat malasadas, and post more pictures.
